Delft Fringe Festival volunteers have an edge.

Volunteers are indispensable to the Delft Fringe Festival. Young (18+) and old, studying, working or retired: everyone is welcome to help out with the best festival in Delft!

The next edition (June 2 - 12, 2022) we go 'live' again and there are about 100 volunteers working in various positions: both during the festival and in the preparation and deconstruction we can use reinforcement. Which volunteer position suits you best? Will you be a member of the public, a box office employee or are you an all-rounder who can be used anywhere? Whatever you do, you become part of our great Delft Fringe volunteer team. Read about the different functions below and apply via the application form.

What do we expect from you?

  • As a volunteer you are the business card of the festival. You are representative, enthusiastic and enjoy dealing with people and artists.
  • You are available for at least 3 shifts in the period May 30 to June 13, 2022 (before, during and/or after the festival).

What can you expect from us?

  • If you work 3 shifts you will receive a passe-partout that allows you to go to all performances. (*if space is available).
  • The official and original Delft Fringe Festival t-shirt.
  • Because of the volunteer agreement, you fall under the volunteer insurance policy via the municipality of Delft.
  • Of course, during the festival we have a great party to dance together!
  • You get to know a lot of new people and a lot of hidden locations in Delft.
  • A unique look behind the scenes of the festival!
  • A lot of fun, experience and endless gratitude.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Audience staff
As an audience guide, you are the business card of the festival. You are the first point of contact for the festival audience. You control the entrance tickets and ensure a good flow of visitors. You work at different locations in the city. Audience guides are representative, friendly, hospitable, enthusiastic and independent. Does that sound like you? Then you are probably our audience attendant!

  • You will receive training during one of the volunteer meetings prior to the festival. There you will also get to know your fellow volunteers.
  • You know your way around a smartphone and have one available.

Cashier & information desk Besides selling tickets for the shows, in this position you are responsible for providing information and good tips about the shows. You will have a lot of contact with the audience and work with a fun team. You will work from the festival pavilion at the market square or in the heart of the festival, the Rietveld Theater.

  • You will receive training during one of the volunteer meetings prior to the festival. There you will also get to know your fellow volunteers.
  • You are fairly good at maths.
  • You have a good awareness of the program and the performances.

Production assistant
In this position you will support the organization with the design of the festival and make sure everything is ready for visitors and artists. If you like to roll up your sleeves, then sign up as a production assistant. You will help with the construction and dismantling of the festival, putting up signs so that everyone knows about the Delft Fringe Festival, and at which locations there are performances. When everything is set up and the festival has started, you'll be the production assistant: you'll bring flyers or benches from a to b, locations need to be converted and so on.

  • You will get a short briefing during one of the volunteer meetings prior to the festival. There you will also get to know your fellow volunteers.
  • A driving license may be useful, but is not necessary.

All-round staff member This is our most varied position. You are the right hand of the volunteer coordinator and production manager. Ready to jump in where needed and you have knowledge of all positions. You can be assigned to all positions described above. Are you flexible, do you enjoy doing different tasks and are you also hospitable and like to get things done? Then you are our dream all-round employee!

  • You will be trained as a cashier and public attendant during one of the volunteer meetings prior to the festival. There you will also get to know your fellow volunteers.
  • You know your way around a smartphone and have one at your disposal.
  • You are fairly good at maths.

Working hours
A festival day usually begins at 11:30 am and ends at 11:00 pm (2:00 am on weekends). All tasks are divided into shifts. You will work an average of 5 hours per shift. The shifts will be assigned shortly before the festival and the volunteers will be informed by email. Of course, we will take your wishes into account as far as possible.
