Festival for young creators presents 29 compelling stories .

24 April 2023

Ticket sales for the 12th edition of the Delft Fringe Festival will start on Monday 1 May. From Wednesday 31 May to Sunday 11 June 2023, Delft will be brimming with young talent. 29 Young makers in all kinds of disciplines: dance, theatre, cabaret, music and much more, present themselves at 28 special Delft locations. Locations you may never have been to before.

Cabaret artist Luuk Weggemans

How about Luuk Weggemans' musical cabaret performance, for example? Luuk is afraid of many things. But telling his audience shamelessly about all his failed dates does not scare him at all. Or admitting that he does not feel like a boy, but not yet a man either. Is he yet another comedian explaining to the audience how the world works? Or does he have to make jokes, otherwise he will go into a total panic?

- Luuk Weggemans plays during the festival on 1, 2, 3 and 8 June.

Tappin-It Collective: JAZZCAFE

After two years of pandemics, rules and restrictions, freedom is a welcome topic for the creators at Delft Fringe Festival. This year, for instance, Tappin-It Collective, the 2021 festival's audience award winner, is making a performance entirely based on the freedom of jazz music. In their musical theatre performance, they seek the boundary between the ultimate freedom in improvisation on the one hand and the rigid rules that can be attached to jazz music on the other. This metaphor fits well with the time when jazz became big and when rules were in dire need of breaking.

Following their success in 2021, the collective received an award from the Performing Arts Fund. For two years, Delft Fringe Festival now accompanies them organisationally and artistically, from the Delft Fringe Makerslab.

- Tappin-It Collective will play during the festival on 3, 8 and 9 June.

Ticket sales

You can order tickets from 1 May at www.delftfringefestival.nl. During the festival itself, you can buy your tickets at the festival pavilion, the pink Delft Fringe Rabbit, in the middle of the Markt. And if you spontaneously decide that you feel like going to a performance, you can also buy a ticket at the venue itself. To allow everyone to enjoy the festival, the organisation has decided not to increase the ticket price. It will remain €7.50 per performance. And that's a good thing anyway.
