120SQM DRESS bedekt het hele podium met stof, vervaagt de grenzen en laat een zachte ruimte ontstaan die de regels van gender en socialisatie opzij zet - althans voor een lief moment. Lang genoeg om erin te verdwalen.

Dit visuele essay is gebaseerd op een lezersbrief in een tijdschrift, waarin een man ontsnapt aan zijn verveling tijdens de lockdown door online een zwart mini jurkje te kopen. Hij ontdekt dat het aantrekken van de jurk hem kwetsbaar maakt. Het maakt hem plotseling extra bewust van zijn mannelijke lichaam: sommige delen van zijn lichaam zijn onbedekt, terwijl andere juist bedekt zijn. Ook lijkt de zachtheid van de stof totaal niet op die van mannenkleding. De jurk maakt alles spannend en vreemd.

Thommy Kraft bedekt in de voorstelling het hele podium in kleur door het als een kostuum te dragen. Naast een kostuum is de stof ook hun partner op het podium.

120SQM DRESS covers the entire stage with fabric, blurring boundaries and leaving a soft space that sets aside the rules of gender and socialization - at least for a sweet moment. Long enough to get lost in it.

This visual essay is based on a reader's letter in a magazine, in which a man escapes his boredom during lockdown by buying a black mini dress online. He discovers that putting on the dress makes him vulnerable. It suddenly makes him extra aware of his male body: some parts of his body are uncovered, while others are covered. Also, the softness of the fabric is not at all like that of men's clothing. The dress makes everything exciting and strange.
