Junkyard is een tragikomische dansvoorstelling over verslaving en afkicken van gewoontes die zich diep in ons genesteld hebben. We volgen een personage die vastzit in zijn destructieve gewoonten en als hij besluit met alles te stoppen, zit hij gevangen in een onrustig niemandsland waar oneindig verlangen rondzingt. Van luchtige rookbewegingen tot hoekige coke-manie, van mechanische NPC-gestures tot ontspoorde OCD-patronen: Junkyard toont hoe het voelt om te ontsnappen aan een leven dat zich afspeelt van kick naar kick. Een fysiek avontuur over de rusteloosheid die je moet doorkruisen om de stilte te bereiken.

Biografie
Tim Vervenne (1998) is choreograaf, danser en bioloog, afgestudeerd aan de opleiding Docent Dans (AHK, 2023) en de master Biological Sciences (UvA, 2025). Zijn bewegingstaal is geworteld in popping, animation, house en improvisatie. In zijn werk staat het fysiek maken van de innerlijke belevingswereld centraal, met aandacht voor mentale gezondheid en maatschappelijke invloeden. Eerder maakte hij Voices (2023), waarvoor hij de Henny Kamerman Dansersprijs ontving, Het huwelijk van Philemon & Baucis (2024) en Het leven is geen marathon (2025).

Junkyard is a tragicomic dance performance about addiction and breaking free from habits that have embedded themselves deep within us. We follow a character stuck in his destructive routines. When he decides to quit everything, he finds himself trapped in a restless no-man's-land where endless desire keeps buzzing. From airy smoking gestures to angular coke mania, from mechanical NPC movements to derailed OCD patterns: Junkyard shows what it feels like to escape a life lived from kick to kick. A physical journey through the restlessness one must cross to reach the silence.

Biography
Tim Vervenne (1998) is a choreographer, dancer, and biologist, graduated from the Dance Education programme (AHK, 2023) and the Master's in Biological Sciences (UvA, 2025). His movement language is rooted in popping, animation, house, and improvisation. His work centres on physically manifesting the inner experiential world, with attention to mental health and social influences. Previously he created Voices (2023), for which he received the Henny Kamerman Dancers Prize, The Marriage of Philemon & Baucis (2024), and Life Is Not a Marathon (2025).
