De blauwe kiekendief

Kijk eens om je heen. Zie je hoe alles een thuis heeft? De mens, de vogels. Maar wat als je thuis verdwijnt?

De vrolijke vogelspotter Merel heet het publiek welkom bij haar allereerste vogelspotcursus. Met aanstekelijk enthousiasme neemt ze het publiek mee het bos in, op zoek naar de zeldzame blauwe kiekendief. Maar dan wordt de rust abrupt verstoord: inspecteur Mees verschijnt met slecht nieuws. Er moet plek worden gemaakt voor een nieuwe weg en het bos dreigt te verdwijnen. Samen met het publiek komt Merel in actie om het bos te redden.

De blauwe kiekendief is een interactieve en muzikale kindervoorstelling (6+) over liefde voor de natuur.

Wist je dat zwaluwen die niet kunnen terugkeren naar hun vaste broedplaats uiteindelijk uitsterven? En dat kinderen die te weinig buiten spelen vaker een bril nodig hebben, omdat ze niet leren om in de verte te kijken?

Theatermaker Moreen Crandel maakte deze voorstelling als ode aan diens opa, die wekelijks het duin introk om vogels te spotten voor onderzoek. Hij vertelde hen als kind over zijn avonturen en over de verandering in de natuur door menselijk ingrijpen. Schrijver Julia Celine Buijs sloot zich meteen aan: haar liefde voor vogels en natuur kwam direct tot uiting in de teksten. Samen vormen zij collectief Mo en Juul.

Biografieën
Moreen is naast maker ook theaterdocent, gericht op de ontwikkeling van kinderen door middel van theater. Julia schrijft theater- en filmscenario's, gameteksten en gedichten, en werkt het liefst samen met gepassioneerde mensen met grote ideeën. Met de blauwe kiekendief willen zij kinderen en ouders inspireren om vaker naar buiten te gaan en de waarde van de natuur opnieuw te ontdekken.

The cheerful birdwatcher Merel welcomes the audience to her very first birdwatching course. With infectious enthusiasm, she takes them into the forest in search of the rare Blue Harrier. But then the peace is abruptly disturbed: Inspector Mees appears with bad news. Space must be made for a new road and the forest is at risk of disappearing. Together with the audience, Merel jumps into action to save the forest.

De blauwe kiekendief (Hen Harrier) is an interactive and musical children's play (6+) about love for nature.

Did you know that swallows that cannot return to their regular breeding grounds will eventually die out? And that children who don't spend enough time playing outside are more likely to need glasses, because they never learn to look into the distance?

Theatre-maker Moreen Crandel created this performance as a tribute to their grandfather, who headed into the dunes several times a week to observe birds for research. When they shared the inspiration with writer Julia Celine Buijs, her love for nature and birds instantly found its way into the text. Together they form the collective Mo and Juul.*

Moreen is also a theatre teacher who focuses on children's development through theatre. Julia writes theatre and film scripts, game texts, and poetry, and loves collaborating with passionate people with bold ideas. With De Blauwe Kiekendief, they hope to inspire children and their parents to spend more time outdoors and rediscover the value of nature.
