Er zijn te veel knappe mensen in de randstad, dat maakt concurrentie moeilijk. Therapie is fijn, maar daardoor hebben al je vrienden altijd een excuus voor hun asociale gedrag. Een snelle stand-up comedy voorstelling met observaties van een YUP uit Amsterdam.

Na een succesvolle voorstelling vorig jaar op het Delft Fringe Festival is Djoni terug met nieuw materiaal. Omdat ze nog steeds een yup in de randstad is, zal het niet ineens gaan over ouder worden of het leven van een vuilnisman. Verwacht veel grappen en observaties over therapie, en hoe je onzeker maar arrogant tegelijk kan zijn. Over gereformeerd opgevoed zijn, en wat voor consequenties dat heeft ook nadat je 'de kerk verlaat'. Over heel goed in je baan willen zijn maar tegelijk niet willen dat je daar te veel zelfwaarde uit haalt.

Over Djoni de Vos
Djoni is gereformeerd opgevoed en had daar een boek over kunnen schrijven, maar daar had ze geen zin in. Tijdens haar studie in Amsterdam viel ze van haar fiets en van haar geloof, en ging aan de slag op de Zuidas als consultant. Drie jaar powerpoints maken later vond ze het wel welletjes, en vertrok ze naar een venture capital fonds - de hobby van rijke witte mannen die in startups investeren. Gefascineerd door deze nieuwe wereld reflecteert ze op zichzelf en alle hardwerkende jonge mensen om zich heen.

There are too many good-looking people in the suburbs, which makes competition difficult. Therapy is nice, but because of that all your friends always have an excuse for their antisocial behavior. A fast-paced stand-up comedy performance with observations from a YUP from Amsterdam.

After a successful performance last year at the Delft Fringe Festival, Djoni is back with new material. Because she is still a yup in the randstad, it will not suddenly be about getting older or the life of a garbage man. Expect lots of jokes and observations about therapy, and how to be insecure but arrogant at the same time. About being raised reformed, and what consequences that has even after you "leave the church. About wanting to be very good at your job but at the same time not wanting to get too much self-worth out of it.

About Djoni de Vos
Djoni was raised reformed and could have written a book about it, but she didn't feel like it. While studying in Amsterdam, she fell off her bike and her faith, and went to work at the Zuidas as a consultant. Three years of making powerpoints later, she had had enough, and left to join a venture capital fund - the hobby of rich white men investing in startups. Fascinated by this new world, she reflects on herself and all the hard-working young people around her.
