Rogers, just Just Rogers

Wat als je gewoon wilt bestaan, maar plotseling wordt omgedraaid? Je wacht op de bus en maakt je geen zorgen over de vertraging. Maar de wereld versnelt om je heen en niemand laat het toe om stil te staan. Het voortdurende schommelen, vliegen en gooien creëert een surrealistisch maar vertrouwd universum.
Rogers, just Just Rogers is een stuk over een stil bestaan in een snelle wereld. Just Rogers heeft weinig ambities. De buitenwereld kan hem in onverwachte richtingen duwen of trekken, maar Rogers blijft op zijn plaats zonder zich zorgen te maken over gemiste kansen. Is dit berusting in de eisen van de kapitalistische samenleving, of een kleine rebellie ertegen?

Het stuk combineert hedendaagse dans en circus, met een focus op partnerwerk en acrobatische elementen die spelen met risico en vertrouwen.

Biografie
The Falling Club is een nieuwgevormd collectief van internationale danskunstenaars die het stilzwijgend betekenisvolle willen laten zien. Door kennis uit dans, circus en performancekunst te combineren, creëren ze voorstellingen op de grens tussen onzekerheid en vertrouwen, verveling en opwinding, zweven en vallen. Het collectief bestaat uit Sini Ahonen, Lunis Katholnigg, Gregor Kenneweg en Meike Münch, afkomstig uit Duitsland en Finland en momenteel woonachtig in Nederland, waar ze hun opleiding aan ArtEZ Dance Artist afronden.

*What if you just want to exist but suddenly get flipped? Oh well. You wait for the bus, not minding the delay. But the world speeds up around you and no one is allowed to stand still. The constant swinging, flying, and throwing creates a surreal yet familiar universe.
Rogers, just Just Rogers is a piece about a quiet existence in a fast-paced world. Just Rogers is a person with little ambition. Although the outside world may push or pull them in unexpected directions, Rogers remains in place with no concern about missed opportunities for greatness. Is this a resignation to the demands of capitalist society, or a tiny rebellion against it?
The piece combines contemporary dance and circus, with a focus on partner work and acrobatic elements that play with risk-taking and trust.

Biography
The Falling Club is a newly formed collective of international dance artists who want to highlight the quietly meaningful. Combining knowledge from dance, circus, and performance art, they create performances that play on the line between uncertainty and trust, boredom and excitement, floating and falling. The collective consists of Sini Ahonen, Lunis Katholnigg, Gregor Kenneweg, and Meike Münch, originally from Germany and Finland and currently based in the Netherlands, where they are finishing their studies at ArtEZ Dance Artist programme.
