Sssst. Stil. Ogen dicht. Luister. Jij bent een levensgenieter, liefhebber en vrije geest. Je neemt de tijd om herinneringen te maken en snapt dat je een festival met z’n allen tot leven brengt. Toch? Al dertien jaar verbindt het Delft Fringe Festival nieuwe makers met liefhebbers, in een verrassend veelzijdig programma. Hoe dat eruit ziet? Danseressen bewegen op hun tenen langs de wieken van een molen. Vanaf de balustrade van een herenhuis vallen bevlogen dialogen naar beneden. In verborgen tuinen krijgen cabaretiers zelfs de bomen aan het lachen. En achter de gevels van een monumentaal pand, word jij geraakt door de woorden van het theatertalent van morgen.

Let op! Deze avond gaan we het anders doen. De dertiende editie van het Delft Fringe Festival wordt feestelijk geopend in Theater de Veste. Laat je verrassen en inspireren door een gevarieerd programma door drie spraakmakende en veelbelovende voorstellingen, waaronder de winnaar van de Delft Fringe Festival Publieksprijs 2023: Mystha Mandersloot.

Studium Generale
Studium Generale and Delft Fringe team-up for this in-depth program. The starting point of this session is the performance 'Iraqi bodies' by dance maker Liza Sulaiman, about immigration and identity, which you can watch before (8 p.m.) or after (10 p.m.) this talk.

When you leave your home, do you leave a part of yourself behind? Join us for an evening of dance and an exploration of how traumatic events can fracture your identity.

Liza created this performance in collaboration with dancer Ali Zanad, who escaped from Baghdad to the Netherlands with his family when he was twelve. Ali is a constant, indirect presence within the performance. The audience hears Ali reading the Arabic poems of his father Khazal Al-Majidi. They also see fragments of Ali's body when Liza scans her body with a tablet, like a landscape that gradually unfolds. We zoom in on the physical surface; the tightening muscles, veins, and scars. Finally, they see the mouth that reads his father's poems.

Discussion and reflection with Studium Generale

Turn from audience to contributor! Share your experiences as we explore the rich themes in Liza’s performance. In conversation with the performer and a researcher, we will try to work out what it takes for someone to feel like they belong.

Want to dance, sing and go crazy? Come to the silent disco of Delft Fringe! With a live DJ this evening can't go wrong. So get your party outfit out of the closet (or just come in your house suit, anything goes!) and dance along for an hour or two!

Presentator Hasan Gök gaat in gesprek met de makers en geeft jou als publiek een kijkje achter de schermen. Leer de makers op een andere manier kennen en ontdek de verhalen achter de voorstellingen. Geniet ondertussen van een heerlijke Italiaanse maaltijd. We starten om 18.30 uur. Inloop vanaf 18.00 uur.

Over Hasan Gök
Hasan is spoken word artiest, dichter en host. Hij laat zich als maker inspireren door de metaforische aard van de Turkse taal. Vanuit zijn eigen gevoelswereld deelt hij een maatschappelijk geluid dat vaak nog onzichtbaar is.

Italiaanse maaltijd
Deze avond is het vanaf 18.00 uur mogelijk om, naast een lekker drankje, een Italiaans diner te bestellen. Zowel het eten als drinken mag je tijdens de Fringe Talkshow mee de zaal innemen.

Presenter Hasan Gök hosts a talkshow with the artists performing at this year's festival and gives you, the audience, a behind-the-scenes peek. Get to know the artists in a different way and discover the stories behind the performances. Meanwhile, enjoy a delicious Italian meal. We start at 6:30 p.m. Walk-in starting at 6 p.m.

About Hasan Gök
Hasan is a spoken word artist, poet and host. As a creator, he is inspired by the metaphorical nature of the Turkish language. From his own world of feelings, he shares a social sound that is often still invisible.

Italian meal
This evening, starting at 6 p.m., it is possible to order an Italian dinner in addition to a nice drink. Both food and drinks may be taken into the venue during the Fringe Talkshow.

Op de laatste festivaldag worden de ‘Delft Fringe Festival Publieksprijs’ en de ‘Delft Chamber Music Award’ uitgereikt. Dit feestelijke moment is voor iedereen toegankelijk en vormt een prachtige afsluiting van het festival. Wint dit jaar jouw favoriet?

Elke voorstelling die tijdens het Delft Fringe Festival te zien is, maakt kans op de publieksprijs. De maker van de voorstelling die door de bezoekers als hoogst wordt gewaardeerd, wint. Deze winnaar is tijdens de volgende festivaleditie verzekerd van een speelplek én te zien in het campagnebeeld. Daarnaast neemt de winnaar ‘Het Gouden Konijn’ mee naar huis! Deze ludieke trofee refereert naar het festivalpaviljoen op de Markt.

Bezoek je een voorstelling tijdens het festival? Na afloop kun je de voorstellingen waarderen met 1 tot 5 sterren. Vergeet niet te stemmen, want zo beslis jij mee wie de winnaar wordt!

*Festival award ceremony
On the last day of the festival, the 'Delft Fringe Festival Audience Award' and the 'Delft Chamber Music Award' will be presented. This festive moment is open to all and is a wonderful conclusion to the festival. Will your favorite win this year?

Every performance on view during Delft Fringe Festival has a chance to win the audience award. The creator of the performance that is rated highest by the visitors wins. This winner is guaranteed a place to play during the next festival edition and can be seen in the campaign image. In addition, the winner takes home 'The Golden Rabbit'! This playful trophy refers to the festival pavilion on the Market Square.
